Has anyone tried the new Fisher 5.75" coil on the Coinstrike?

It works grate I have not had mine off sense i put it on 2 1/2 mos. ago. Even on high sen it runs quit and deep, supper separation in trash

It works great. BUT, even with the smaller coil on the C$, it is what it is. What I mean is, it's still a Coinstrike only with a smaller coil. So if someone doesn't or hasn't liked the Coinstrike in the past, the small coil will not change their minds on the detector.

Now, it will allow you to run the sensitivity higher while the machine stays more stable. Electrical interference doesn't seem to affect the C$ as much when I run the small coil. I get depth of around 6-7" mostly. It could go deeper maybe, but I haven't dug anything much deeper.

I pulled mine off after my buddy had me check a signal that he got with the Xterra 50 and the cs wouldn't make even a peep. He dug a barber dime from 6 inches. That was enough to switch back to the stock 8. Does great for shallows in trash and this one just couldn't handle all the iron that was in this soil.

It is a fact that smaller coils will not pick up on-edge dimes like a stock or larger coil will. Even when hunting around moderate iron a larger coil will pick out dimes missed by other detector/coil combinations. As good as the C$ is, there are limitations (as well as advantages) to all coil sizes. I once tried using the 1270 with 5" coil at an old park where most of the coins left were old dimes near iron and it would not hit on targets the CZ and Sov with stock or larger coils hit unmistakeably and these were all in the 5-7" range.

You know Tom I didn't see how it was in the plug. You do have a good point. This was some horrible ground as far as mineralization. No doubt in my mind as I know I would of got it with the 8". I suppose I should of hit the area first with the 8 then come back and cherry pick the stuff the guys left in the trash using the 5 :)
