Has anyone tried the 8.5 x 11" DD for the 1350 yet?

Not that I have heard yet. A fellow on the other forum put one on his GTI 2500. Here's what Jason3 had to say....

"Finally being able to get out in between the snow and cold, I headed down to a new detecting spot, one I had researched well prior to going. It is located east of my hometown along the water front and is comprised of many many old big tree's. I heard that back in the day it was also the site of swimming classes and 1 other special spot that I found out after looking through some historiacl documents #####.
I got out with my GTI 2500 with its new 8.5x11 DD coil. As long as I have used my 2500, I had never used the surface blanking caption offered on the detector as I have heard many negative things about it. I decided to use this technique because from my years of detecting, I have always found the older coins deeper! I blocked out 3", sensitivity to 10 and discrimination to detect everything from 7 up to 11.5.
I detected from about 7am till about 2pm and about 90 percent of all my finds were older that 1970. I did not find 1 coin any earlier than 1990.
Some of my best finds for the day are as follows;

- 1876 H Canadian large cent
- 1918 Canadian large cent
- 1840 Bank of Nova Scotia large half cent
- 1842 Bank of Montreal large half cent (470,000 mintage)
- 1970 'Shell' W.L Mackenzie large medal
- 1899 Indian Head penny
- 1937 Wheat cent
- 1955/1962/1957 Silver Canadian Dimes

I'd like to add that the new coil worked very very well. I was amazed as to the light weight of the coil and the depth I was getting coins. I was digging a deep plug my first dig (about 7") and most of the time the target was even deeper than that. Stability at 10 was very stable. Pinpointing...no problem! "
