has anyone some experience using the 5.3 eclips

how does it work in trashy [places how deep are you finding targets are you happy whith it im thinking of buying one need some feedback thanks

Its a great little coil,I love mine, works well in trash, pin points well on my M6. So far I have got coins down at 4"to 6" maybe 7" with no problems, but I think that is all the deeper the items where. I am sure the coil will detect deeper if something was there and the detector was set up right.

Take Care, :twodetecting:

The same goes for me.I have 4 coils, and the 5.3 was the latest and i
have almost forgotten about the others as this one is excellent in
very trashy areas and i get some good depth readings.

Any thoughts from anyone about the 5.3 eclipse vs. the 6x10 DD? I have the stock coil the 4x6 shooter coil and the 6x10 DD coil and my 6x10 is on 90% of the time.

Here's some info I've saved from various sources.

Going to larger coils simply increases masking in many cases, and only in clean sites can you get that extra inch or two.
With the stock coil, the audio responds deeper than you can get an accurate visual VDI. As the coil size increases, the VDI quality decreases, and often a smaller coil improves VDI quality.

Concentric loops like the 5.3 have the following advantages:
Can get good targets under bad targets because of their cone shaped field
They are 10% quieter regarding magnetic interference from power lines
They have 10% better trash discrimination on iron - steel bottle caps and foil
They can shape the target without walking around it
They pin point accurately

Wide Scan Loops (DD) like the 6x10 have the following advantages:
They have better side by side target separation
They are more sensitive to smaller than coin size targets
They are more sensitive off the tip area of the coil
They smooth out the ground reactivity noise by 10%.

In non mineralized ground the DD coils get slightly less depth than the 950 concentric. In stronger ground the 6x10 does better and the 1400 DD does better than both. Rob

Good info, and all so true and very accurate....
