Has Anyone Heard Anything Yet?

 Hello fellow detectorists! Back in the winter people on the forums were saying that Whites might be coming out with a whole new detector line in May or June of this year. The reason was because the M6 and Prisms were not very popular with the hobbyists and the Garrett 250's were outselling the Whites. Another reason was that hunters wanted a small "sniper " coil for the Prisms and could not get one. They also complained because of the frequencies that the M6 and Prisms were set at which made using their present coil selection with a new machine virtually frustrating and impossible. So having said all that,....has anyone heard anything about a possible new lineup of detectors from Whites?

Check this out for their new underwater PI machine www.rsoperations.com There is also a Land Pi machine on the way the Whites Pulse Scan, dont know much about that one yet. Im pretty sure there is a picture of it, the proto, on this forum a number of posts back. A lot of people over here in Australia are hanging out for that one.

Sorry. I forgot I can't put a link to another detecting site on Finds. This post started about two months ago. Guys who tested the proto type say the land PI is coming off the lines all ready, right on schedule. Rob

Sorry bub....don't you know that those who reign supreme here don't want us to know there are other forums out there?

there will be two units coming out from what is being said. One for water, one that is for relic, gold, whatever.
Not certain what you meant by the coil selection for the M6? The M6 uses the same coils that are used for the DFX & the MXT.

 Pap, In reference to coil selection on the M6,... I meant to say that it is frustrating for those of us who have an XLT or IDX and want to get an M6 because they use different coils. The XLT and the IDX Pro use different coils than the M6, DFX, and MXT. Just when you get a nice set of coils collected they come out with a new machine that can't use them! And what gives with the Prisms? Everyone I know wants an additional small coil for "cherry picking" in trash. I know that this seems like a lot of complaining but Fisher released the new F2 and it has an additional 4 inch coil plus stem mount added to the deal for just $199.00. Why can't my favorite company (Whites) do the same?

I understand what you mean now. And you have a good point. The Prisms haven't had the success that Whites had hoped for, no doubt. Do the new Fisher coils work with the old CZ Fishers?

 I don't know if the coils from the newer Fisher line will work on an older CZ or not. You can go to the Fisher forum and Bill Ladd can answer that question for you. I have an older 1266X which is an excellent machine but it is no longer in production. I did not like it when First Texas (Bounty Hunter) bought out Fisher. I will probably sell the 1266X later and just not use Fishers at all. My favorite detectors have been Whites and Bounty Hunter's upper line units. They are my detectors of choice at present. If you have an older CZ there is no doubt that you have one of the very best detectors ever made.

Best Wishes and Happy Hunting,

Dirtfisher

A Whites sales person told me they are coming out with the PRIZM 6
(LIKE THEY REALLY NEED ANOTHER ONE) and it will be out soon, but he
didn't know HOW soon. We'll all have to just wait and see. As for the P.I., I don't know
anything bout the machine.
As for Garrett, a customer service rep told me they had nothing new, that she
was aware of coming out anytime soon.

 What the @%&*(%$# ? A Prism 6 ? You have got to be kidding. Is anyone hearing what the people in the field that actually use these detectors are saying? And have you noticed that on E-Bay all the old Spectrums, Silver Eagles, and Pro models are selling at outrageously high prices? :surprised: It seems like the Whites detectors that were manufactured in the 1990's are more popular now than ever. Whites needs to do something soon because there are a few other detector companies that are doing very well at the present time. Also,... Whites.... ( if you are listening) please let us know something or update your catalog, or do something! People are making decisions about purchases even as we speak and I don't want my all time favorite detector company to take a back seat to anyone! I am going to be off the forum for awhile due to business but I appreciate all the input from you guys. Thanks alot and as always,

Best wishes and Happy Hunting from Dirtfisher:cool:

Honestly I don't think the coils are interchangeable. But the Xerra coils don't work on the Explorer either. Truth to be told. every time a new detector comes out the old coils won't work. Except with the MXT and the M6. May be a plot of the manufacturers to sell more products. What do you think?

Not to worry my friend. This new Prizm will be unlike any other Machine you have seen.Including previous Prizms.

i don't know any more than what i have read here, but man am i growing impatient! after they get released,we still have to wait for stats. to come in before i make any moves.

thats the first i've heard about a new prizm, and you say it will be a whopper?how so?any more info?

From their website - I saw it a couple of months ago for the fist time - I think.
