Has anyone had success with the Beach Brute?

BDA

I looked at this model once.. But I am hard on my scoops and I think I would snap the handle... It looks like it would be great if the bottom make up was all sand but I hunt in the rocks and I don't think it would stand up.

While the Beach Brute was in the testing stages, I put one foot into the basket and one on top with all my weight bearing down on the scoop while Kevin (the manufacturer) hauled back on the handle and he lifted me off the ground with no problem, and I weigh over 250LB. Plus there is a 90 day warranty against structural failures.

Thanks JW! Appreciate the feedback as a wrong decision makes for a very expensive return from where I am. Too bad you don't ship to Bermuda.

Cheers,

Chuck's scoops. I've had one for over 2 years now and it has never failed me. If I have a deep target in waist deep water, usually a couple of scoops and I've got the target. Haven't heard anyone mention Chuck's product for awhile now.

softest "stainless steel" I ever saw,,,1/4 horse grinder ate it like paper,,I felt ripped off,,Before I knew about a lesche,,,,just my take,,,,,,,,,,,cs

If possible make your own, a sheet of 1/8 inch 6063 aluminum, about 11 inches by 24 inches depending on the diameter you want, some flat bar for the handel mount, an aluminum tube shaft for the handel. I did get it welded, total cost, 45.00 for welding. Drill all your holes and have everything laid out in advance, they will roll the scoop in a circle for you, put the back plate on it, weld the handel mount and your done.

You guys have some SERIOUS SCOOPS that you have made yourself and I envy your ability to get it done. Unfortunately, I don't have access to those resources anymore, not since Imoved to Bermuda and gave away my tools to my brother. Everything costs a lot more here in Bermuda, especially anything involving real trade ability. I could do the work myself with access to a metal shop like the one my family owns in Canada but here it's 10 times the price. You heard me right the first time, TEN times, I just got a bill from my electrical contractor for two pool lights, guess how much. Did you guess $11,489.00,:yikes: didn't think so.
Such is life on the rock.
Thanks for the help,

A beach brute to Bermuda is expensive but it can be done.

GET A SUNSPOT SCOOP. STAINLESS STEEL WELL MADE WOOD HANDEL KEEPS IT FLOATING STRAIGHT UP WHEN YOUR NOT HOLDIN IT. HAS THREE YEAR WARANTY AND MOVES HUGE AMOUNT SAND. RETAILS 179.00 THERE IS ONE PICTURED IN THE CLASSIFIED FORUM. I HAVE ALREADY SENT TREASURE MIKE MONEY FOR IT THAT MEANS I NOW OWN THREE OF THEM. YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED I ALSO CONSIDERED THE BEACH BRUTE TILL I CAME UPON THE SUNSPOT. GIVE IT LOOOK. RICH
