Has anyone ever used the coiltek 15" coil in the 7.5khz.If so how do you like it and is it worth the money. Thank you for your in put..

Digger did a test and review on it. Do a search.

I had one and used it on the 70 & 705. The only advantage I could see is more coverage. The 10.5DD coils are still the kings of depth!!!!....MO

I have the Coiltek (WOT) 15". Its a great coil for covering big fields, a real harvester.
Its stable and waterproof. Easy to clean from sticky mud , due to the design.

But if its deeper than any other coil in Xterra range, na dont think so. Clear is this coil
are of good quality. Have had some great stuff found with it.

Not cheap though.

Hi Moose,
I just purchased the 15" 7.5kHz x-terra coil & have to say I'm a bit disappointed with it. I've also got the 10.5" DD 7.5kHz & personally think that coil is far & away better. The 10.5" really gives a solid signal whereas the 15" can be a bit 'iffy' and often doesn't lock onto targets like the 10.5" does. I have only used the 15" for park hunting so far. Hopefully it will perform better on the beach?

If you haven't got the 10.5" DD then i would recommend you get that coil.

Regards from Down Under!

Hi Swinging thanks for that bit of info on that coiltek coil.I just bought a minelab 10.5" dd coil from rich at backwoods. But I also
have these other coils 7.5 consentric,3khz.,6"dd..What other coils should I have in my arson,I have heard that the 18.75 khz.eliptical
coil is a nickel hound have you heard this..

Well the Coiltek is 50% bigger then the 10.5.Of course it sometimes doesnt lock on target as well as the smaller 10.5.
But I havent had any problem with that.If the hunting area not is filled with trash, this coil picks up very small items.

I wouldnt use it in a park, cus it would be tough see through all the junk in the ground with such a large coil.

The eliptical 5x10 is great, compared it with E-trac and 6x8 SEF and it did really well.Very good for trashy areas and for finding jewelry/nickels and small thin coins.Coil is light and my only wish it was waterproof.
