Has anyone ever used a vintage Bounty Hunter Rustler !

A fellow in my town gave me one in excellent condition with only around ten hours of use. I'm currently using a new Teknetics Omega 8000 but this oldschool detector has me intrigued. I was wondering what frequency it runs at. I fired it up and it works fine. I read that Jack Gifford (Founder of Tesoro)designed this model when he worked for Bounty Hunter.
Thanks, Todd

Is that the blue one...O-L-D Bounty Hunter?

Yeah, if I remember it had the auto-retune. I just can't remember if it had a switch for that for fast or slow or not. Sometimes, if I remember, at higher discrimination, you would get a false signal over trash -not a regular signal but a retune signal as the detector reset.

I'd love to see a pic of your machine. Been trying to remember which Bounty Hunter I had as my first detector. All I can remember is that it was the late 70's/early 80's and it was "Blue" No meter. Picked it from a magazine picture and my parents got it for me for Christmas. From Kellyco, I think.
Can't remember the name but "Rustler" sounds familiar.
