Has anyone ever found a silver and clad coin spill?

I've found alot of spills over the years and find it an interesting indicator of how long coins remained in circulation. By my reckoning should be able to find seated (albeit worn and thin ones) at sites dating as late as the 1910s-1920s.

One spill I've never found has been a clad coin in the same hole as a silver coin. It sure seems amazing that all the silver coinage would have been sucked out of circulation so quickly after clad coinage was introduced.

How about the rest of you? Any clad silver combos?

I found my first Indian Head penny spill mixed with some Liberty V nickels the other day . . . my first spill of those. What a fun time that was watching the Explorer smart screen cursor and sounds doin their little "What the heck is that down there?" kind of dance: [attachment 55856 IndiansAndVnickelSpill.jpg]

I would love to find a spill with that old of Coins in it and in that quantity. I have found a few spills myself over the years, one that contained a Silver Quarter, Merc, Silver Roosevelt Dime, about 6 Wheats, and a War Nickel in one hole and one other small spill had only 2 Coins, 2 Barber Halves with both being between F and VF Condition. Good Luck and HH.

Back when I lived in Michigan, I had a school that I was hunting that dated back to 1954. I recovered LOTS of coins, old and modern, with a few coins spills in the mix as well. The first silver coin I recovered was a '54 Washington quarter with a Jefferson Nickel, either from the 50's or 60's. Not sure if you want to consider that spill a "mix" or not. I recovered a few multi-coin penny spills, where the pennies were half Wheat, and half Memorials.

But a clad dime/quarter/half with a silver dime/quarter/half spill, no I haven't.

Allen,

Still find alot of 1940's and 50s nickels in change. Seems like you need to change the design of a coin before the old ones disappear.
