Has anyone elese heard about the upgrade?

I read somewhere that Garrett may be upgrading the GTI
series detectors.

Thought I read that it was going to have the same features
as AT Pro plus imaging?

If that were true ....that would make a heck of a detector.
Would like to see a better headphone connector / connection
if they do come out with an upgrade.

Has anyone else had any info on this?

Isnt the GTI designed and optimized for coin hunting while the AT PRO is optimized for relic hunting?

So if they upgraded the GTI series to make it like the AT PRO then it would not be a GTI series anymore ... would it?

But yes ... word on the street is that a new GTI upgrade or possibly even a new model (GTI-3500) is coming out by summer.

I talked to a Tech at Garrett's today and he knew nothing of this talk about a up grade to the 2500...
He did say that if they did do a up grade, that if your unit was still under warranty, it would be free.
May be a secret, until its done, who knows.....

I'm sure down the line they will upgrade their top of the line machines and just not stop with the 350 and AT Pro. Wouldn't make much sense to just change part of the line.

Garrett never talks about new machines before they are announced. Plus it wouldn't be an upgrade to the 2500 per se, it would be a whole new machine altogether that extends the GTI line, so you won't get a new machine for free if your 2500 is still in warranty.

Steve,,,
I meant,,, if they up graded the 2500, with a new chip or something, then the up grade would be free, not give you a 3500 or something...

Yeah I'm sure they will come out with an upgraded coin machine or machines to complete their line. I've heard rumors of such and prototypes of same spotted at the factory.

Bill

Yeah Garrett keeps everything a secret until they are ready to release it. Even the field testers don't know until the last minute.

Bill

I look for a whole new machine as the 2500 is long in the tooth. I field tested that puppy almost 14 years ago.

Bill

the 2500 is almost 15 years old now - it has already seen its last upgrade. I am sure Garrett's next move is going to be replace the 1500 and 2500 with new units based on state of the art technology. I am a relic hunter and can see that the AT PRO was designed for my style of hunting but I will be very interested to see what they come up with for a new GTI model.

By the time the warranty is up, I will not worry about any new unit,lol..
I hunt with a old man, 72, that still use's a old A.H. Pro Back Packer, from the late 70's,
he has never used a unit with a meter and his son, 47, use's a 1265x.
I could buy a car with what I have spent trying units, lol.

Hope the Doctors figure out your problem...
Take care.
