Has anyone done the master reset?

Any problems? Did it wipe out your saved programs and name on the startup?

I'm having trouble getting the wireless headphones to pair up and thought it might be worth a shot.

White's does not endorse using the Master Reset now, it has caused more problems than it fixed. It sounds like the headphones might be the problem anyway, do you have access to another set? If not, a call to service will be in order and they can guide you through a test. If it is the phones, White's will most likely send you another set.

Another thought is to try a higher channel #, I found that some channels worked better for me than others.

I called Whites today and mailed in the detector. It was really weird. Once in a while it would pair the headphones but then quickly drop them again. Not an interference problem since it behaved the same at home or out in the field.

As a note to others, I was ready to trade or sell hte V3i. I wasn't getting good performance, or so I thought. I found out the other day while my headphones still had sound the main unit said they were not connected. When I used a wired set of headphones the detector ran like a charm. Back to the wireless headphones and it was running poorly. I thought it was something else. I didn't think there was anything wrong with the detector. But then I had never used regular headphones with it before. It could be this had been a problem for a while and I didn't really notice since the wireless headphones still had audio.
