One of those ULTRASONIC CLEANERS for cleaning stuff you find? If so, how did it work?

My mother just bought one and I had just found an old copper coin that was very corroded.

It works. I don't know if I need to get one when I can drop by and use hers.

Thanks for the info. Nobody answered this for awhile, so I went ahead and ordered on to see if it did work. Did you just use plain water or did you add something to the water?

UPS lost it:shrug:. Now I have to wait til they put a tracer on it. If I ever get one, I'll let you know what I think. Usually nobody cares what I think though.

I use one for some items, such as jewelry. Mine has a heater with temp control. I use plain water with a little Dawn Ultra, I teaspoon per quart, and run the temp at 180 degrees.

For heavy dirt, I put it on for about 3 hours. Most of the time, that is enough. Then I rinse with warm water and dry with a hair dryer.

After I get the dirt off, I use metal cleaners and polishes for the type of metal I am working with.

Hope that helps,
Rip

Any info I get is helpful. I may not be the dumbest:shrug: person in town, but sometimes I come pretty close.:bounty:

:cry:The ultrasonic cleaner was shipped, but it never got :shrug:here. I emailed the seller and they said it was shipped two days after I paid for it. I was supposed to get it Tuesday a week ago. I emailed them the following Friday. They checked with UPS. UPS doesn't know where it is. It seems at terminal, the ones that says where it is supposed to go couldn't find my address. They said it was the wrong zip code for my address. They changed the town and zip code, so it was delivered to an address four miles south of where I live. Well that address is an empty lot. My wife and I drove down there, :surprised:A EMPTY LOT? Waiting for UPS to trace it now.
I got two more things comin by UPS this week. The thing that gets me, is I never had anything lost until they started this right hand turn crap.

(Unless a person is cheap and then all ya need is a mirror to assign blame) is to pay the extra buck sumthin' and have UPS require a signature upon receipt. If I use UPS there's ALWAYS a signature involved.. otherwise the bums will leave it who knows where. Without that signature, they have no excuse. ..Willy.

UPS called last Thursday and said they were closing the tracer. I email where I bought the cleaner and asked if they could use the post office next time. She said yes they can. Should get it this week.:jump:

Always have it shipped requiring your signature...I have NEVER had anything lost yet...I have had things show up late, and once I even got something for nothing when after 3 weeks, I called a company to get a refund, then on the 4th week the item shows up at my door...

HH,

Yes Willy, I guess it is my fault. I was brought up believing that if you agreed to something, then keep your word. I grew up that a contract on paper was not as good as a handshake. Although the law looks at it different. The law says if you trust people, you are in the wrong. Country people always did have a better way.:usaflag:

IT worked on a heavily corroded large penny. The soil here burns up copper coins. I have not used the device since.
