Has anybody tried the new 13" Ultimate yet?

I have one and tried it once and got good results to 12" according to the display but came back later to dig and couldn't get the same results. I have changed the batteries and will try it again on the same places and see if I can get those coins or whatever...

cooltex, keep us updated on that. Sounds interesting....12"! :)

I have not. I was thinking of getting the 13" but i didn't want to lug the things around, figured it would be too heavy.

Actually, at least on the Explorer/Etrac/Sovereign versions they are pretty darn light coils from what I hear. Only slightly heavier than the Pro Coil, so you might want to ask Kellyco to weigh one of the Whites versions for you to see.

I'm a nugget hunter out here in Arizona, and have also been curious about getting an upgrade coil for my MXT. Does anyone have one of these Ultimate 13" coils or Kellyco SEF Excelerator butterfly coils, which I feel is what White's may have tried to copy with their Ultimate coils? The Eclipse coil that came with my MXT as the stock coil doesn't cut it for use in highly mineralized ground areas, so am wanting if not NEEDING to upgrade to a much better hotter coil, for MUCH better overall performance in highly mineralized areas. I've sent Kellyco numerous emails asking them about their recommendations, but to no avail. Normally if a company won't respond back, their products aren't worth a plug nickel. There is no doubt about Kellycos customer service to be greatly lacking!!! My main concern is not wanting to waste money on a coil that isn't as good OR BETTER than the stock Whites coils that I already have. If the Ultimate coil won't do, then how about the SEF butterfly coils, and which one is best for overall hunting/performance? Which SIZE butterfly coil - 12x10, 15x12, 13" Ultimate? Sharing your recommendations and experiences with these coils is MUCH appreciated!!!

I have one. I have air tested it against my 10" DD and it tests deeper. The few times that i used it I was surprised at how well it picked up small targets. I found bracelet charm, (just the charm), and it had about half the metal of a dime. It was only about an inch deep, but the 13" coil picked it up easily. The spot has some history, but the deepest thing I dug was part of a plated spoon at 9" deep. I'm sure they have had some ground work or fill dirt. I was planning to go relic hunting with it tomorrow, but something came up and now it will be next week sometime.

The Ultimate 13 weighs 1 pound, 9.2 ounces complete with lower rod attached and loop support...The Eclipse 950 with lower rod weighs 1 pound 8,5 ounces.....Eclipse DD 4x9 with lower rod and loop support 1 pound and 4.5 ounces...Eclipse 5.3 with lower rod 1 pound 2.4 ounces....all rods have one velcro strap to keep coil from unwinding....only two have a loop support which weighs about 1/2 ounce....

I wondered if it would be as good as the 10" x 12" SEF coil? The 13" Ultimate coil looks shape-wise more like a E-Trac Pro coil.
