Has anybody experienced this...

I was out on a hunt at the beach yesterday and when I turned on my Garrett pin pointer, to find a target, it made my CTX go nuts. I haven't experienced this problem at the beach, or any other place before. I did a noise cancel and the problem went away. Has anybody else had this happen to them?
Also, I found a nice big silver ring today at a park. I was surprised to find the ring in the hole, as I was expecting a penny, due to the target ID number of 12-41. This is the second 925 silver ring I have found with these numbers. For 925 silver shouldn't the numbers be a bit higher on the conductive side? I'm using High Trash, Combined mode and manual at 27. Here are pic's of the two rings
.

I found on my ctx that when detecting in wet, and very black sand my numbers will be off, but the tones are right. For instance a quarter should give me a 12/46 will sometimes gives me a 12/42 or 12/43, 44,45. I think the black sand messes up the number a little. Gene

First off I fail to see why you need a Propointer on the beach. You sure are wasting time. Not to mention that it is not waterproof. But I have had my Propointer interfere a couple of times on dirt hunts. You did the right thing. Just do a noise cancel. That is why the feature exists. To do away with interference. Congrats on the nice ring.

I sometimes use a pinpointer on the beach. It helps find things like earring backs that fall through the holes in the scoop. Don't find too many with Minelab detectors though.

Yea nothing wrong with a pinpointer in dry or wet sand, just not needed in the surf. It might go nuts once and a while, it is basically 2 detectors within a foot of each other, bound to happen. And those rings coming in at 12:41 is no surprise, they are not solid. They have holes and such. I have found pieces of silver with holes in the 12:20's. My opinion anyway. High trash mode might have something to do with it too.

I will say that is one advantage I've seen with the minelab pro find 25 is that I've never had it interfere. I can't say the same for the garrette.
