Has anybody els tried wireless head phones?

I got a set from radio shack for about 60 bucks two days ago. I have used them two times without noticing any wave interference. Every now and then I hear a rustling sound, maby I'm rubbing up against something,I don't know.

The set I got goes behind the head instead of over the head. They have ear hooks and rest on the ears instead of covering them. They have foam covering the speakers

They are light and comfortable. I forgot I had them on when I was talking to someone at the park yesterday. The volume doesn't go very high, but it's loud enough for all but the extreme cases, unless you are hard of hearing. You can hear what's going on around you and it's easy to talk to people when you have them on. It's easier to wipe sweat off your face than with over the head/over the ears headphones, and their cooler.

Of coarse there's an obvious advantage in not being tethered to your MD.

They have rechargeable batteries in both the transmitter and the head phones. One charger charges both batteries at the same time in 4 hours. It's claims to have a 7 hour battery life.

I don't know if their rugged enough for our hobby, and so far all I know are mostly pluses.

Does anybody know something I should be aware of when using wireless headphones?

I guess this ended up being a review didn't it?

hu oh well

I've been using these for just about a year now. I get some static when the battery is low, and get a little lag but nothing that I can't deal with. What I like the most is not having a cord to deal with.

Enjoy...

I am interested on your opinions about this item.
Do you think the Logitech Free Pulse could do the job ?
I am worried about the lag and the battery life.
I have an Eurosabre.

I think Logitech may be a better brand. But the transmitter must be small enough to go on the metal detector.

I have not noticed a lag time. I may not be that preceptive. But I like the response. The first time out with them I found two small pendants in a playground.I believe one is silver and the other is gold. I'm not contributing those finds to the headphones but I'm saying that the headphones did not interfere with making those finds.

I haven' t used these headphones long enough to know if the manufacturer's claims on battery life are accurate or not.

Hello,

The Logitech and the Radio Shack are probably made in the same China factory. There specks are pretty much the same other than the Logitech might have a better speaker. They both use Lipo battery. So charge then the night before you hunt. I think the Logitech receiver is smaller but I haven't seen them in person. You can make or but a 2-3" extension from Radio Shack and mount the receiver on the side with velcro.

The main problem that I find with them, is they are bluetooth running at 2.4mhz. I wish I could find a set running 900mhz. Sound would be better and no noise from power cables, wifi networks etc... I think this is were I get the lag from sometimes. Also don't hunt with a friend using the same headphones. You'll pick up each others signals when your within 30 feet of each other.

There is a lot of talk about wireless headphones on another forum, even using FM transmitter. http://metaldetectingforum.com/search.php?searchid=89501

All in all, I think there great and love them for there coolness while I'm out in the desert.

Hey Fellow dirt fisher....My rig consist of an Ipod transmitter I got from Overstock.com for $14, a Sony digitial walkman...its the small one....and a pair of behind the head headphones. The beauty if this outfit is that you can set the rig for whatever frequency in your area that doesn't have any radio signal. Steve in Tenn.

I won a factory refirb set of those Blue Tooth head phones from Kellyco. For the $30 I paid they are an excellent buy and work fine on my Tesoro Cortes. Very light and comfortable.
