Has any one used the X-70 in the beach mode?

DirtDog,

Yep, I have used the XT70 on the ocean beaches here and my observation pretty much reflects many single freq detectors...great on dry but okay on wet. I found that even in beach mode, you have to decrease sensitivity a bit too much to make it stable when going into the wet. Depth doesn't seem to be good in the wet tho it is super in the dry. I just could never get it stable enough for my liking whereas my ExpII is pretty much dead silent on the wet with depth plus (using a 15" WOT coil too :).

Don't get me wrong...I love the XT70 (I so miss the Prospecting mode on the beach...it picks up the tiniest metal with depth) but as a beach machine, it is still best left in the dry. If you can get it stable with depth on the wet, let me know how since I'd take it back out there in a heart beat. cheers...Keith

I have used my 70 in beach mode heaps of times, no complaints from me. It performs very well.
