Harvested a wheat field today!

here is my haul for today, got a horse with no head, a toy gun with no barrel, a pocket knife with no blade, a Volkswagen with no wheel, a key with no lock, an entire wheat field with no silver.....lol

best find of the day was a 7 cent pocket spill that contained an 1897 V nickel, 1912, and 1917 wheat. Total of 24 wheats found, some were extremely shallow. When I found the pocket spill I ALMOST passed it up because it gave a crummy zinc signal at 2" deep, but I dug it anyways like I always do....lol

to my surprise at a whopping 2 inches deep was the V nickel and 2 old wheats, I am guessing the nickel mixed in with the wheats brought the signal down from the normal high copper signal.
That was V nickel #4 for me this year!

But that goes to show, you CANNOT skip shallow targets, you NEVER know till you dig!

Congrats on the very good finds! That was a great coin spill! Nice find on the V for sure, Beale.

What a great haul! It's great finding those older coins, and anything over 100 years old is fantastic. Well done!! Sapper
