Hard to date item

The Rockingham House was origionally built in 1785 and became a hotel from 1883 to 1973. Assume this had a key attached to room 48. Also assume it would be hard to date this item unless there is an interest in Rockingham House memoribila by some collectors. Guess it's possible as it was an upscale hotel and a few presidents stayed there but I couldn't find anything online. Found at a cellar hole but could have been dropped there in the 1970's.

Short history of the building.
