Hard choice

I'm looking into a new detector. my choices are a Tesoro Deleon or an Garrett ATP. I'm sure they are both good machines but I need only one.

I dont own either machines, but if i was to use one barometer to decide which one is better, look at the amount of folks using the ATP and how many are using the Deleon, sales of the latter machine would not even come close the sales of the ATP,this must indicate to me anyway that the Garrett is a far superior machine.Of course i could be wrong but the much higher sales by a massive margin must indicate its a better all round detector.

I agree with you, Mega. It has to do with the new technology and not the company. Tesoro has had their chance to keep up but still the same old technology. And I have 3 Tesoros and 3 Garretts, so I'm not biased to any one company.

I have had both detectors, both good machines, on plus side you can use ATP in inclement weather without worry, both are easy to use, the Deleon more user friendly than ATP, Con ATP screen was to small to read in my opinion. Plus side Deleon life time warranty if new. I have used Tesoro repair service 5***** while I have not used Garrets. If you have a lot of iron in ground Deleon might not be for you. ATP has more user options etc. Hope this helps.....

I don't own or use Garretts but I do have and use a Deleon. Its a good detector with ok depth and I have made some good finds with it.I just don't like the fact that it I.D.s all coins at 95 except nickels. But then again I use CZ's a lot and they for the most part do the same thing,so I guess I'm use to it.

I've used Fisher CZ's and a Teknetics T2 for the most of my 8plus yrs of detecting a Tesoro Cibola and a vaquero as well. Now I use an original Minelab soverign but I'm not getting the depth with it I was use to getting from past machines. From what I see in this thread I think the AT pro would be the one to try.

At Pro......................Way Better....More going for it....The best Detector for the price......So far!
