Harbor Freight Pinpointer ?? Does it work ?

I did some research and saw many good reviews for the harbor freight pinpointer for 15 bucks...infact I read many posts that they liked it better than the automax V4.
I just want something that "helps" me with this hobby......a "starter" pinpointer Id say.
For 15 bucks and from what I read....it seems to be a good purchase. Anyone out there have one ? How do you like it for the price of 15.00 ?
Thanks

I have one and it is worth it for the price. I can't compare it with the automax V4, never owned it. I modded mine with a vibrator out of an old tracfone and added a switch to select from speaker to vibrate. I don't like the case it came with... it would hang on the push button when putting it in or taking out of the case... I bought a camera case at a yard sale, cut a hole in the bottom for the probe. It attaches to a belt and has a fold over top that secures with Velcro

I swear by mine, after buying a bounty hunter one for $145. no comparison the harbor frieght is excellent!!!!I never leave the house without it!Can be as far away from target as 4 inches.sensitivty is great.Have been using mine for over 2 yrs. love it.Wayne

Worth the bucks and won't empty your wallet...I believe basically a stud finder and surprisingly gets as much depth as some costing much more...of course there are better ones but then again will be quite more expensive...

It is a good pinpointer to get started with. No Propointer for sure but does work and will help you find those dirt colored coins. The biggest issue with the HF PP is the switch but that can be worked around. Worth the price.

I also put mine in a zip lock sandwich bag to keep dirt off the unit and out of the switch. I simply cut hole, smaller than the probe, in the bottom of the bag. Then I push the probe through the hole and then zip the bag closed. Then I'll fold of the excess baggie and tape it done with clear cellophane tape.

i have a bullseye II and one from harbor freight, they both work the exact same other than the vibration feature of the white's. dollar for dollar i think its the best on the market and if it ever does crap out your not out a 130.00+

do not get one one line from hb go to the store if you order it one line it well be on back order for a long time i love mine

I love mine. My dad has one too. Try to keep it clean, as to not foul up the switch. I have heard of people cleaning or replacing the switch if necessary, but I have no complaints with the one I have. I have more than got my $15.00 worth out of it already.

And keep in mind you can usually find a 20% off coupon for harbor freight on the web or if you are in an area that has one of those "Entertainment" coupon books, they have coupons off as well.

They work pretty well. I used mine until I got a Pro Pointer. The only problem I had with it was the push button switch went bad.
I replaced it with one I found at Radio Shack. You really can't beat it for the price.

Just got mine a week ago. Used it for the first time today and helped me locate this cool Loyal Order of Moose buckle and a penny...

yeah I like mine a lot so far...it works well...I just keep the cover on it and put it in my pouch. The cover is nice to keep dirt out.

got one last week, had to take it back before the day was over, the sensitivity button was broke. I traded for another and it works good
