Happy Thanksgiving from the hills of Connecticut........have a safe trip for those of you who are traveling.

My mom and dad always cooked their turkeys stuffed and in a brown paper sack, they always came out great. I'm gonna cook mine in a plastic cooking bag with slice apples. Happy holiday Bobbie to you and yours

I put the turkey on a layer of carrots, celery, onions and garlic so it sits just right in the pan and keeps from sticking to the pan with no rack to clean. The juices from he turkey and the veggies make a dynamite gravy. Stuffing is breakfast sausage fried up add some chopped up apple, celery, cranberry, onion and bread cubes and stuff the bird......now the big trick is to spray the turkey with vegetable spray like "Pam", salt & pepper the skin put it in the oven @ 325 close the door and forget about it till it is done.....no basting necessary and comes out golden brown and juicy.

Then there is the Sweet tater casserole with brown sugar and pecan crust topped with toasted marshmallows.

Cranberry sauce is homemade with orange juice and orange zest.

And of course there the green beans, spinach salad, pickles, and sweet and sour red German cabbage

Apple pie, pumpkin pie and cherry cheese cake
