Happy new year and a ring rescue

Howdy all,
First off happy new year to you all.
Been a while since I have posted as I haven't done much detecting of late due to knock backs of permission, my usual spots drying up and just no being able to find new ones, which has reduced my enthusiasm and renewed my interest in fly fishing. Anyway I get a text on new years eve from the lady half of my best friends saying happy new year and could I come around tomorrow with detector as she has lost one of her mothers rings in the back yard. Having had the odd beer or 3 I didn't race off and do it straight away but left it till today hoping I would find it as that would mean more to me than finding the pyramid for the young lass in my first JR job. I got there and had a GREAT start to the new year as I was successful and made a lady very happy. Naturally enough started at the hunt on the wrong side of the yard, but gradually worked my way around her back yard digging everything ( and was encouraged too as the lady was just as curious as to what the noises were about too, as I had the headphones off just to be sociable like :) ) but finally got a realistic 36 - 39 on the F5 along with the right noise and depth and there it was in the leaf litter. Whew. Her now grown up sons will be happy to get 3 of their toy cars back too.
