Happy New Year also photo of my can slaw meter

It is a nice meter Ron makes up and he is always improving it one way or another to help out all of us Sovereign users.
I am wishing everyone a very good 2014 with some great finds being posted when most of us can get out and do some detecting. Up here in ND we have had so many days of below zero weather and it is a -20 right now and expecting the rest of the week below zero too. We are hoping for a very early spring as we are tired of the cold and snow and we want to go detecting again.

Good luck to all in 2014.

Rick

Ron That looks like a good way to recycle a couple of cents worth of "Trash". Your next invention needs to be a metal detector that will ignore aluminum and still find all the good stuff. Man I dream BIG.

Without one of Ron's meters I find that I dig a lot more trash than I do when one is installed on my GT. I had a problem with my meter (MY FAULT !!!) and Ron graciously solved the problem for me.

For those of use whose hearing is far less than perfect the Meter is a real time and energy saver.

Rick,

I remember when we lived in Wyo. Always looking for that early spring!

Ron,

Been meaning to ask...How long should the battery last on the meter? What size is it?

John

XWY it has a 9 volt battery in it. Depends on how much detecting you do. It could last up to a year or more if you don't do a lot of detecting. In my case I sometimes have to change the battery after 2 to 4 months. When the meter starts giving you bad numbers change the battery.

Hate to sound ignorant, but what is a can slaw meter?

Mike

I was hoping Ron had a new meter to help avoid can slaw and was wondering why he hadn't told me while doing some business with him recently. HH!

I just put your meter back on the gt I hunted on a1840's plantation today for about 1.5 hr. and found 2 flat buttons 1 bullet and a shield insignia but I can't read whats on it and a large brass football shaped piece with a large 1 on both sides don't know what it is but it looks cool.I put the meter on because I will be back in that field all day tomorrow.

Rick,a lot of feed back along the way has helped to make improvements on these meters. My Britney just went outside we have about 14 inch of snow here, the poor dog almost got lost. The weather is so bad I didn't show up for my ski patrol shift. My old ugly Jeep Wrangler sure worked well today. Thanks Ron

Very creative, ....Good Luck with the weather...
