hanging out for my 8 inch mono back....broke the spell

Have been tied up at work so not enough time detecting lately! Had a few beach hunts with coins, sinkers, junk rings.....and finally today visited a "sanded in" beach with the ATX and the stock coil.

Not too many targets but was listening for deep repeatable tones and finally rewarded with a gold plated ring... and the best find of the night a 9ct female ring with a big (1ct sized) bright blue stone. Finally broke the gold spell!

Can't wait for the 8 inch mono coil back....! Hurry up Garrett! Please....

Do you still think the 8'' Mono coil is the best one for the ATX ??? have been seriously looking at getting one,the stock coil is a good all rounder but i feel its a bit on the heavy side for me,i plan on using it more for land use than beach work and my way of thinking is the 8'' coil will still give me reasonable depth but better pinpointing and also more sensitive to smaller targets as well like our silver hammered coins.

All the best for todays hunt on the beach.

Reason I like the 8 inch....

A) lighter
B) easier to pinpoint, especially in the water!
C) seems to be "crisper" in its response.

No depth advantage over the standard coil, I guess for water hunting it is just faster to recover the targets and pinpointing is easier!

Price is way to high in my opinion and the shaft setup is a shocker. But...that aside it is a good coil.
