Hang on to your pinpointer

Having lost several pinpointers and back tracked more than I care to, I duct taped or screwed (depending on the pinpointer construction) the coiled plastic cords used for key rings on my pinpointers. Now with a quick clip on my belt loop or other handy spot, my pinpointers are always attached.

Good tip
Now for the digger LOL

Never lost one yet in 55 years, I keep mine in a leather pouch right next to my hunting knife I use to dig with.

I have however dropped my cell phone, because it clips on my belt ,but luckly I found in back on the field where it fell off (WOOF).

Be careful those things are expensive maybe a sunray DX1 would be better for you they attach to the machine..John..........

Never lost a pinpointer. I always carry mine in my left hand along with my digger. I've left it lying on the ground but after a step realized something was wrong (like when you've forgotten your watch). But I have lost a coil cover. How that happened I haven't a clue. And I've certainly lost my share of those nylon nuts and washers that secure the coil to the lower shaft. Got so bad I bought the nylon washers, nuts, and screws by the 100 pack (I got tired of paying a quarter for a screw that I could buy (in lots of 100) for two cents. Still unable to find those very thin (1/32" ??) very wide (7/8" ??) 1/4 inch washers for my bigfoot hardware though. Still have to pay through the nose for those. Anyone have a source?

Silversmith, I'm sure that method works well enough, but I think I'll stick to my coiled cord. LOL

Another reason why the Sun-ray inline probes are so good.

I love the Sunray on my MXT, but unfortunately, that's the only machine I have it's compatible with.

I agree with the Doc. Sunray is the way to go. Im looking to get mine soon. I back tracked a lot looking for my bulky Kellyco automax V4. It will also be nice to have one less thing dangling from my side to.

Bright orange gaffers tape wrapped around it makes it easy to find if you leave it behind. Wish I would have done that with the probe I recently lost...
