Handling an Explorer,,,

We all know the Explorer is a heavy dude with excellent attributes(probably best in the business) however some simple settings may help. Start with the armrest and move to fit our particuliar physical arm makeup. Now pay attention to the lower rod( too short and back will hurt from bending and too long the arm will hurt from holding the weight) fine line so do experiment..Also the swingy thing and homade devices do help and even saw one fellow swing two hand while have a rope attached to the bottom of the coil and worked for him. Perhaps someday a lightweight Explorer will appear on the scene, but until it does a little experimentation will help..

Great advice, also i found if using the slimline you can turn the coil around to give it a little lighter balance.

We should get Dyson to design the next Explorer... a big plastic ball with a detector inside... you just roll it around. (oh great someone's gonna make money off of my idea)

hello all, I have recently bought a SE pro,and am trying to experiment with various settings. The multi tones I find a bit confusing as I have a hearing problem.Should I carry on, trying to get to grips with this or swap it for a more basic model? Do any of you have thistrouble?

Good tonal interpetation is the key to an Explorer is certainly a truism. Certainly your call and although the Explorer is an excellent heavy detector its not for everyone.
I don't know if you realize it but unders sounds in the manual if you elect constant instead of ferrous or conduct it will only emit one tone which may or may not help you...

Blueray ,spend the time with the ex plorer you want be sorry! There is no detector that i have tryed that will beat it in the field. I have been at this for 30 years!! Doug N.C.
