Hampton update

New member
I hit Hampton this afternoon during low tide. Yup, it was sanded in as USUAL!!!!! I found 49 cents (a few greenies) and a few pull tabs. Still waiting for that big storm......

Things are still sanded in but at least there was a little movement since my last trip. We still need one big storm to get things going!

Found a low cut and managed to pull out a gold plated ring, toe ring + 74 cents in clad. Some were green but not that old. I was surprised to find one new but very green buffalo nickel in the mix.

Hey B.H.? Have a chance to hit the beach this W/E or are you, Bob, & Marc still trying to get the goodies from that lake before it freezes over for good (if it hasn't already)?

James,

Man I am guessing it was you my brother and I saw out there on Monday at Hampton. We were so pressed for time I forgot to ask your name. We are from Western Mass. My brother hit the rock hole for three pieces of costume jewelry and some loose change. I picked up a few clad myself. Look forward to seeing you again.

Thats interesting about the new greenie nickel. I thought that it would take a few years for the coins to turn green. The rocky area(south end) was buried about 12" deep but was there. I found a quarter 11" deep at the rock layer. There was a trough cut in it that exposed the rocks to the surface. I found nothing in there though. Lets hope for good hunting over the New Years weekend.

Was kind of pressed for time myself but glad to have crossed paths... it is always good to have company on the beach and to put a face to the names of the people on these boards.
I am also glad to hear that rocky patch gave up some goodies for you. I just poked around it for a little bit so I knew there was more to be found.

The beaches should be giving up the good stuff shortly... hopefully a storm will be heading our way soon. Looking forward to running into you and your brother again in the near future.

HH
