hammered coin

I have never seen one before but just acquired a old readers digest Atlas of the Bible and it has that coin in it.
It is a silver shekel minted in Tyre. It was the most common coin in the near east from 126 B.C. to A.D. 65. It is believed that the 30 pcs of silver that Judas received for betraying our Lord may have been in Tyrian shekels. The head side is of the Phoenecian god Melquart, the reverse side and eagle one of the pagan symbols.
