Hello, all. I was curious to know if anybody knows whether there are special rules associated with digging/metal detecting hallowed ground. I'm just a Baptist, so I don't know much about how hallowed ground works, only that Anglicans and Catholics seem to care about it. While visiting a historic Anglican church in Nova Scotia they said strangers and the unbaptized couldn't be buried in the main cemetery, which was considered hallowed ground. I've looked around online, but I can't find any rules about whether or not a person would be allowed to dig there. It would generally be a bad idea to dig in a cemetery, so I was thinking more like in the church yard. I've had permission to dig church yards in the past, but I've never asked at an Anglican or Catholic church before.
