From the land of the Bluenose....Halifax (founded 1749) was the scene of major military action throughout it's history but not in the context of actual battles. Citadel Hill Fortress was built in response to the French building Louisburg in Cape Breton and later in history the harbour was a jump off point for soldiers being sent to the trenchs in Europe and during WW11 where the Transatlantic convoys formed.
Several batteries and forts still exsist today with most being off limits to detectorists. This being said and done a few are areas that can be hunted on such as Devil's Hill Battery on the mainland as well as an island or two here and there. Shown are a few examples of some of the finds from those spots still open. Military stuff is not my fortie as I'm like a crow and enjoy shiny things.
