Half in the Bag

Hunted Friday afternoon with my brother and a friend from the club - we visited a local river park for a few hours - get several wheats, a '45 George, a '36 buffalo, a '43 Merc and a little snare drum charm - don't know if it's silver or not. My brother also got a Merc and several wheaties. This is from the "grow zone" that will soon be all grown over.

Saturday, I met up with my brother, our buddie Mike, along with Awout from "Serious Detecting" in Ann Arbor, hoping the rain had loosened up the ground. I swear, it didn't look like they got a drop of rain in old AA - ground was still bone dry and hard as a rock. I ended up with several more wheats (making a total of 13 for the 2 days), a 1907 Injun and just as I was about to call it a day, I hit a '41 Walker in the same area that we had covered earlier in the morning, and only 4" deep. Things that make you go "hmmmmm". The walker was very close to trash and only gave me a blip in combined mode - but enough to make me investigate. When I switched over to multitone (high trash) it came in more solid and the 04-47/48 told me to dig it!

Good finds Doc. You're doing well. Curious, did your hunting buddies get a chance to slip their coils over that area giving what turned out to be a walker.

At least one of the guys went over it with his E-Trac as have I in the past. I think I just hit it from the right direction this time with the right "Mojo" I guess:laugh:

Great finds Doc and way to go on the big silver. That's one sweet indian you got there to nice hunt.

Congrats, that is some beautiful silver there. Just wow! Interesting date on the large silver (Walker)...

Go Mojo,
Albert

earthmansurfer the date on the walker is very common I call it war year silver also 1944 penny's are probably one of the must common wheat penny finds in the US ,
