Half and Medal

Here is a pic of the 1935 Half Dollar and the Boy Scout Hiking Trail Medal I found Saturday at the club hunt. The medal is missing the ribbon that was attached to he larger loop. Below is a write up of the trail.

A privately built trail called the Amaquonsippy Trail was started in 1961 as a fundraiser fr a Scout Troop in Bradford, Illinois. Amaquonsippy, in the Algonquin Indian tongue, means "Spoon River". It was a tough trail to take, around 18 miles long with rope swings to cross streams. The trail was closed around 1988.

At the bottom of the error message click on the open image url to see the pic. Don't know why the error message, tried twice, same thing with two different pics.

Very interesting Steve. I was out there a few times as a kid in the late 60's. I have talked with Jeff about hunting it. I thought it was older than it is. Thanks for posting this. Nice half as well.

Those are dandy finds Steve, congratulations.

We are having problems with the cache memory for pictures............. hope to be fixed soon.

Those are two very nice finds. Your half was the only one found for the weekend correct?

SWEET .......another half coming out of the woodwork. :clapping: Congratulations on your finds Steve. HH, Nancy
