Had trouble with my Vaquero. I now have a question

The discriminator knob quit turning. I had to tale the knob off and tighten the nut underneath. Now when it is turned to all metal it stops where it is suppose to Directly on the red mark. Now if I turn it to max discriminate , it goes pass the last mark and stops at the six o'clock position. Is this right? I thought before it stopped at max.
 
I think it might need a trip to Doc Rusty.

Nothing is broke. You just didn't put the knob back in the correct position. Turn to the off position, then place the knob on the shaft with the pointer pointing towards the 's' in discriminate. Tighten the set screw and you're finished.

Better yet, using a nickel turn the discrimination shaft to the exact point where it discriminates out. Then install the control knob where the pointer is pointing dead center on the '5' cent mark. Then tighten the set screw. You may have to do it several times to get it perfectly lined up. I can tell the difference between a nickel and a most modern pull tabs when it's set up that way
