had the chance to really put the F75 throught its paces...

Finally had some serious time to devote to checking this critter out, and thought I'd share my findings/views with those of you still learning the F75.

I spent a little more time in my test garden before heading down to a VERY hard hunted spot I've hammered for probably about 4 years now. This site has produced a LOT of buttons, coppers, LC's, and three Reales. I thought it would be a good spot to really put the 75 through its paces, as the last three times there I got ZIP, NADA. Not even a peep. I tend to hunt my places till they will produce nothing. I always dig ALL the trash too, but not always the iron. Since I got literally not a single beep the last three times, I figured if the 75 produced THERE, then it would prove to me it had something a few of my other machines didn't. This site has been hunted by me and a number of my friends when they visit, with virtually every machine you can name.
Before I get into the performance, I'd like to point out a couple of things I didn't like about the 75. First, the armrest HAD to go. It was clunky, and didn't hold on to my arm very well, and I found I had to grip the machine a bit tighter than I would have liked to keep it on my arm. I fitted a two piece armrest I had laying around to it, and it worked like a charm. Now I can swing it all day long, with a two finger grip.

I have found some over in Europe, the thing that tells me what it may be is the back. That should be the fitting for the wooden handle.

Look if you can come up with who or what farm/company used a D as symbol.

& rather than a shower cap you should defiantely try to get the F75 rain covers that they began to include with the more recent purchases. I didn't get them with mine, but just requested them after seeing Mr. Bill's....they are very cool & the cover around the battery compartment that sits on the ground solves what some folks feared which was setting that compartment down on wet sand, wet grass, etc. A velcro door lets you open it right up to change batteries:thumbup:Even if you have to buy a set, they are definaetly worth having, not just for rain but scratch & wetness protection as well. I'll be ordering a set for my T2 as well.....
Like you mentioned, I'm also excited to see that JE is just as deep as all metal it seems. We saw the same results testing last week, disc on the F75 was the same as all metal on the T2....
Also, I wrapped mine w. tennis racket grip, you can get at any sports store, to fatten the grip some, as you are not the first to say it didn't feel wide enough.....
HH,
Bill

I am really interested on how it performs on pounded sites or trashy sites where all the easy targets have been dug. I have lots of these kinds of sites, but no fresh virgin sites at the moment. Plan to order my F75 tomorrow.

I "hunted out" a site with Brand X and went back the other day with the F-75 and had to turn the sensitivity down because of so many targets too.....Excellent report you gave and finds as well..RichardnTn
