Had good luck with Garrett and Kellyco!

Hi! I'm new to metal detecting and new to Garrett and Kellyco, but had such a nice experience with each of them on a malfunctioning coil, that I thought it deserved some publicity. My brand new Ace 250 arrived last week from Kellyco and I took advantage of the nice weekend here in Oklahoma to begin to learn the detector. The detector worked fine for a couple hours, but then started acting up. A friend had a Garrett sharpshooter coil with him and when we switched out the coils, my detector worked fine, so we figured the problem was with the coil. I called Kellyco on Monday morning and they kindly apologized for the problem and emailed me a return label so they could replace the machine. That evening I got to fiddling with the coil plug and found the machine worked intermittently depending on wiggling the wire right at the plug. Hating to see the whole detector go into the trash bin when only the coil plug was defective I called Garrett and explained the problem. The fellow I spoke with (didn't get his name) offered to send me just a new coil with a return label in that box so that when I got the coil all I would have to do would be to box my old coil in the same box, slap the label on and return. So, in the meantime, I can continue to use my new detector (maybe having to fiddle with the plug a little to get it to work) and have a very convenient package to return the old coil in. I was especially appreciative of Garrett doing this without requiring that I put the new coil on a credit card and then crediting me when they received the old coil. They pretty much just took my word on the issue and accepted my promise to return the old coil. That way of doing business seems kind of quaint today, but was certainly refreshing. When it comes time to upgrade my detector, guess whose products I'll be looking at!!!!!

Yeah that's why Garret is the best in the business and has such loyal customers - mind boggling customer service. Ain't nobody can touch them in that department.

I agree that Garrett is a great company to deal with. They did not get a good reputation by treating customers poorly, they earned it by taking care of their customers. I must admit that when I pre ordered my At Pro last October, I was taking a lot of things on faith. There is no way I would have done that unless I was confident that the At Pro would perform as they said it would. It certainly has and then some. Just my two cents worth.

You have a great detector and a great company behind it.
The coil only cost them pennies, but look at the reputation they built into their company name.
I bought the Ace and love it. If it broke today I'd buy another one because it does the job.

Happy Hunting
