Had a quick hunt yesterday and found a piece with 6 patent dates

I was able to find some thawed ground yesterday and dug this any ideas?

My guess is that its to some kind of stove. Why do you think it has 6 patent dates? it measures 2 inches by 3 inches

A cool find !
Those old brass tire pressure gauges they gave out with the cars in the early 1900's had a zillion patent dates on them too.
