Had a little thaw.

We just went through a little thaw yesterday, today its spitting Ice and rain, but yesterday was nice hunting. Took the pro back to that spot I found the silver dimes at, and just worked it some more, Got a 46 wheat, these Jeff nickles, lures, weights etc...Up in the shallows I ran at half sens, and the targets were only a few inches down since the sand got all washed out, then I waded out progressively going deeper in the water, and deeper sand, gradually adjusting the sens higher as the targets thinned.
Amazing amount of pulltabs, shotgun shells and lures deep in the muck. I went after pretty much everything just to learn this machine a little more and was impressed on its depth. Judging from the age and size of some of these finds, and the location of the spot, man, I was keyed on those gold tones! Could tell nobody had been here with a coil in a while, if ever, since they would have had to be up to their neck in water, and if they were, they were not hitting nickle tones. Nice day out with no troubles!

Must be damn cold where you are, looks like your pretty keen heheheh. I suppose you have to make the most of it hey! All the best on your next hunt!
Cheers!

It's nice this hobby, enjoying nature and its elements and recojiendo what Mother Earth (or parent river):heh: gives us. A few days and other days less. They are beautiful fishing lures but unless the rings ...
best regards

You're a hardy soul, Mud!!

Thanks guys...I knew Jimtn's post was a warning, but alas it went unheeded! I went out to check a place that i've been thinking about...I had to cross an old beaver dam and lodge, and half iced up muddy swamp to get to...as I was carefully crossing the lodge, I fell through! Luckily, there was no beaver home at the time, and the juncture of where my legs meet at my body arrested my fall over a log, as I was trying to get out of there, my cell phone fell out of my shirt pocket, and down into the darkness! I recovered it again quite luckily, and figured that was enough adventure for one day!

Our temps usually are good enough, it's the rain, rain, rain for those of us in the PNW. Right now it's perfect detecting weather....

Glad you're OK, Mud! Nothin' worse than being chased by a herd of angry Beavers, and they can really rack up the international minutes, talking to their French-Canadian relatives!! :heh:
