Had a little excitement detecting this evening...

well, I was detecting by the side of my barn this evening when all of a sudden I hear my mother yelling "mike, mike, there's a bear" well I just turned around and booked it right out of there! I ran down to my house and my mom said a black bear crossed the road and ran past the other side of the barn that I wasn't detecting then ran up into the woods. I was just over there detecting a little while before that so I'm glad the bear didn't come then! It scared the living crap out of me. But besides the bear incident, I found 30 cents. But I now have found over $5 in my yard! Thanks for reading. HH

Mike, LOL! Sorry but I had a few run in's with my share of bear in my neck of the woods in NH. The least was as I was taking in the bird feeder. It was at night about 9:00pm or so. We take it in so the bear don't get it. Well I live on the 2 floor and I went out on the deck closing the door behind me as we have a indoor cat and we don't want her to get out. well let me tell you our deck is only 10X12 after I shut the door behind me and walked over to the feeder reached up and unhooked it. I know there was something right next to me Yep you gusset it a bear. I'll tell ya I don't know who was more scared me or him though I think he was as we both took off me opening the door and him deciding not to take the stairs down he went over the side of the deck and that's a 12 foot drop! What a racket he made. This was last week! We live here 21 years so I had many run-in's with bear. Glad your ok! George
