Had a good day!

I thought i'd share a few finds from pretty good day. I have never posted my finds before so i need a little work on the photo skills. the last week or two has been nice here in UT. 3 weeks ago I still had 3.5 feet of snow in parts of my yard, now it's almost gone. I wasn't planning on going out today but today was day 75 degrees (new record) so i couldn't pass up the opportunity to get out. I'm glad I did. I usually try and hunt construction but with spring just arriving here there isn't much of that going on yet. I ended up going to a home that i've had my eye on for awhile and was able to catch someone there. The home was built around 1900 and had a very large front yard. The owner told me it had been detected before (few years ago) and gave the go ahead. It was a little slow at first and I was looking for the deep signals. First good find was a wheat at 6-7in, and then I pulled out a 1917merc a few swings later. I'd been swinging for about and 30 minutes when i got a nice deap indian signal and pulled out a really nice 1900 indian. Six inches away i pulled a 1989 indian. After about 2.5 hours I had recovered 5 indians, (1900 x2, 1895,1894, 1889), 2 mercs (17, and 25s), a 1897 barber quarter, along with 9 wheats.

It was a great little hunt. I've had my etrac for a bit more than a year but this is the first year I've really used it. Last year things just didn't come together and I hunted very little. I was really happy with the depth i ended up getting. the wheats all came up from 6 inches or more and the indians and mercs where all at 7-10. Durring the summer I'm not sure how good a signal if any I would have gotten on some but with all the snow melt the ground is very moist and i got great depth.

I ended up stopping at another house...only had 30 minute and ended up picking up another wheat and a Dairy token that has been pretty beaten up. Token reads Blue Ribbon Dairy/Good for 1 Quart of Milk. It's unlisted but tokens are my favorite!!

Nice finds! I'm originally from Utah and I travel back there when I can. Took my detector last year but went relic hunting in the mountains and looking for placer gold. May bring my etrac with me this june and do some diggin. Would be cool to hook up for a day and do some hunting. Take care.

Hey Digger,
Sweet digs bro. Nice to get out in that sun and dirt after such a long deep freeze. I got myself up in the hills looking for that elusive spot I'm always thinking ill find. I got a few good targets but nothing great.

Nice to see your out and about getting some good stuff.

good luck,
shovelhead
