Well, I had a chance to hunt on my grandfathers lot where his house once stood. It's not a very big lot by any means. My uncle had the house torn down a few years back so I was curious as to what I might find. I hunted for about 2 hrs and came across lots of items from the house; door handles, outside water faucet, several door locks, a couple of keys, tire irons, and a few coins. Oh, and I do believe I hit my quota for fishing weights. I walked away with a 1946 20 centavo coin, 3 wheaties dated 1944, 1955 and 1956. I was happy with my finds and will likely hit it again this weekend. I came across an area where I picked up all the pennies just laying on the ground, some barely covered by the mud. I'm hoping for some silver nex time.
After 2 hrs or so my kids had to have a much needed bathroom break so we headed home and headed right back out to the park down the street. This time my husband actually did a little detecting & digging in the mud. He's never bothered to do any detecting before, so I was suprised. Well on his last dig he dug up a cute little .925 ring with a bow on it. It's pretty bent and warped but a ring none the less. I believe he may have been bitten by the "detecting bug".
Enjoy the pic's.
