Had a fun poolside hunt today - and thanks to Tabdog

After reading Tab's post about his hunt beside a public pool I decided to hit one today near my house. I only had about an hour, but decided to make the best of it. I was jonesing to pull a ring, so I kept my discrim low - between the black arrow and nickel - on my Eldorado. Lemme tell you, this was one of the most fun hunts I've had in a while. There was something about the mystery of what was going to come out of the ground. After a short time I didn't even thumb the discrim to guess what it was going to be. I mean, what did it matter? It was coming out of the ground regardless!
I was getting hits everywhere. Seemed like as soon as I stood up to swing I had another good solid signal.
First impression was nickels. I've never found many nickels. Today I found 4 in a space of about 40 feet
Another thing learned was pinpointing. The little circular opening above the lower rod connection was deffinitely the hot spot of the coil. I could just wiggle the coil back and forth (kind of like the minelab explorer wiggle) and the object would be in that spot. Didn't hardly use all metal to pinpoint.
Also found out that the 9x8 coil is really pretty good in trash. After I dug one of the nickels I rescanned the hole. There was a nail about 3'' away from the nickel. Nice.
Anyway, no ring, but got a good number of coins in a very small area. Some trash, but that's to be expected.
I gotta tell you, this Tesoro has deffinitely brought the FUN back to detecting.

Ha Wane,

Your on a roll now.

There's something about swimming areas and jewelry, so don't give up.

The trash is intemadating at first. But once it's out of the ground, it don't
seem so bad.

That Eldorado is a real nice machine. I have gotton to where I use my
Euro like the Eldorado. The more I use it the less I use the Iron ID feature.
I just use it like a check sometimes. But I can do the same thing with the
disc knob.

It has a great all metal. Great match of disc and all metal. One fine hunting
machine:detecting:

HH,

I like the word "fun" cause that's what this is suppose to be. Just enjoy and good things will come. Nice recoveries.
