Had a blinder of a hunt today and set a new personal record.

I'd organised permission a couple of weeks back to detect at my sons' former school and finally got to hunt there today. I only managed to fit in a 3.5 hour hunt, but wish I could have stayed longer. It was one of those hunts, where you just can't put a foot wrong. Armed with the X-Terra, confidence was riding so high, that I was often going after iffy signals. Even a lot of these turned out to be coins. In total, I recovered 16 junk targets, one locket and 151 coins for a total of $87.98. And this was only in the bark chipped area! I'm hoping to detect the rest of the playground over the next week. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to do that more often.

Dont let the school council know how much youre getting.. They'll want the lot for fund raising.

But seriously The way the gubbermint funds schools these days they could probably do with a share..

And I havent got around to asking at my kids school yet but it did cross my mind.. :)

BTW
Well done and I hope you have just as good a time with the rest of the school..

Actually; fund raising is just another word for leverage.:beers: I own a fairy floss machine and have run it for them a a few school fetes for cost only. This opened up another school to me who had said no before. They tried to hire one, but the operator fees were day light robbery. They approached me, and I offered to do it for written permission to detect there when I wanted to. They couldn't write the letter fast enough. They also made $700+ for the day.

Good stuff Mick.

I had hoped to get a bit more time to hunt (don't we all) but all in all I had a good time. I used the Explorer for a couple of hours the yesterday ($:geek: then switched back to the X-Terra for the last 90 mins ($17). All in all, I found a total of $139 at the school, as well as recovering my first pre-decimal coin in several months. It was a 1951 penny. I only covered about half the school grounds and feel that there was another $50 there, if I had the time.
Happy hunting.
Mick Evans.
