I was on my way to go water hunting gold this am, but noticed a Habitat site off a side street, so I whipped in there just for giggles, figured it was my duty to at least give it a go...I headed straight to the back of the property and started hitting pennys, OLD pennies! Wheats and one Indian, then this Barber dime![attachment 290651 walker3.jpg][attachment 290652 walker5.jpg]
Then the guy showed up to load up a bunch of stumps, we talked a little about the weather and detecting, and he asked if I could find the curbstop for him, No Problem...Bing! here it is! He said to go ahead and hunt, but I headed off on my original mission...I drove off and got into the water, but I could not concentrate for long, I kept thinking about this place and how this may be the only day to hunt it...so I went back...He was gone, and the trackhoe was in a different location...right under where the trackhoe WAS parked, I got a big signal, and out came this Walker Half![attachment 290653 walker4.jpg]
I got 4 wheats, 41,42,44,45..a 07 indian, a 1899 Barber dime, and a 43 walker half in no time at all...all very shallow, ..[attachment 290654 walker.jpg]
One thing I did notice was the tone signals were not at all like clad or traditional tight easy tones...I dont know why?...maybe because they were in the ground for a long time? I'm generally a clad stabber and jewelry hunter, but this was fun...Any of y'all key in on these old teardowns specifically?
