Ha, I saw something kind of curious on eBay

There is a Cibola up for bid. It has an extra knob on the face plate. I submitted this question. "What is that extra knob on the Cibola? Is that a ground balance control? Will it void the warranty?" The answer was " treasure shop told me it is a ground balance and it wouldn't hurt the warranty ".

It looks well done but you never know what might be inside that little box.

Just thought I'd give a heads up,

Tabdog,

I saw that exact same Cibola on eBay also. I couldn't figure out why it looked like a Vaquero, but said Cibola. Thank you for firguring that out, and posting it.

Well then..my question is. Is it a Cibola, or A Vaquero....is that the only difference in the two?? (GB)

If it is and if that's a good installation, it would be like getting a Vaquero for the price of a Cibola.

Cheers,

i think it is a vaquero but they called it a cibola i seen it to i seen another in a pawn shope but if you look close it has a metal bolt holding the coil on ,, do you think they had problems whith it because of the bolt and sold it i know it will do funny things having a metal bolt holding the coil on its missing the plastick coil boilt ??????????>>>>>>><<<<<<<????"""}}}}{{{{{++++

I ask the seller about that knob as well. I commented it looked like a modification, I was thinking about the warranty.

The reply was that it came from Tesoro like that. I don't think so. Warning flags go up for me.

Funny thing about the metal bolt on the coil. Some Tesoroes have a metal bolt and a lot of the newer ones have a plastic one. I have both kinds. They aren't the same diameter.

I wish they all had the plastic bolt & nut.

Cheers,

All my Tesoros are old enough that they have the metal bolt holding the coil. It never causes a problem that I can see, but as the sizes are different if one has several detectors and different coils with mixed bolts and sizes it would be a pain.
