Here is the pasture I was searching...and searching...and searching! It is so large, I ran some X patterns across the field to hopefully locate a camp. No luck though. I still have a lot more to search on the other side of the tree line to the left. We need rain, the ground is very hard.

The first pic is yours truly! The second is the sum total of my finds for the day. The third is a close-up of what could be a cival war era bullet. I'll need to clean it up and research it. If anyone can ID it, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

I'd gladly trade you some of my rain....(going on 5 weeks) for some of that beautiful blue sky and sunshine! Glad ya got out buddy, that's quite an undertaking, hunting that field, :yikes lotta ground to cover. HH'n

looks like a lot of shade trees there. I always look at the lone tree in a field as I drive down hiways and byways and ponder how the old farmer stopped for lunch underneath the shade ot that lonely tree - and how he probably lost coins, tools and watches while resting up for his next half day of working in the sun.

I'd be looking for the biggest tree and search beneath it. Never know what ya might find.

Congrats on getting out and seeing the detector is still working for you.

Looking for trash pits with a probe works. Look for subtle dips in the ground. However if it is farmed regular, the probe is problabley the best you can do. Good luck!
