What other headphones "work" (cut the external speaker) on the CTX besides the "stock" h.p.'s or Bushmasters?----I know about the adapter plug and will probably go to it & use it----but I am wondering about what other h.p.'s that are available that do not require the adapter (or modifications)?
 
Hi Doug,

Before you modify a headset, use the adaptor first get a good feel using a headset with the adaptor first. And if possible, use a headset with the curved connector so the overall length of the plug and adapter length is limited to a few inches having less chance of breakage.

My headset of choice is a pair of Rattlesnake, one ear cup is ideal for summer usage.

Radio Shack has the adaptor, will also allow you to use the headset on other detecters otherwise the modified headset will only work with the CTX.

Im wondering about the Grey Ghost DMCs made for thr Nautys..Ive got a set of Timberwolves that I modded for my Nauty that Im gonna try when my 3030 comes...wildherre
 
i emailed the killerb headphones folks and ask if their ST phones would work on the 3030 .. This is the company that makes the phones for Sunray. and the STs are their phones for the Nautilus.. here is the email..

I would think any headphones that work for the Nautilus will work just fine, as it required full stereo, separate left and right channels (ring and sleeve).

I tested my Rats headphones with a multimeter, and it should work as well. Both the ring and sleeve are connected and it has a reversible cable with a mono plug on one end, Stereo on the other.
