I have been posting quite a few different post on here asking about cz21's and what not I now have in my stable a cz5 a cz3d and have set my mind on getting the cz21 this spring I have tried all the rest and believe the cz's are the best!! Just love these detectors and my friends that I hunt with that use 12-1500 dollar machines are frowning and are starting to convert over to CZ'S. Guys I swear you just don't know how long and how many different detectors I have tried to get to this point in my life of detecting to say I am a happy camper!! Later 88junior
I see you came to the same conclusion that took most of us several machines and lots of $$$ to come to. I wish Fisher would come out with a digital machine with knobs that is as deep as the cz's. The F5 is a start but the depth isn't where I feel it should be.
It just doesn't get any better than a Fisher CZ detector. You can keep all the new Fisher stuff....I will take the classic Los Banos CZ's over the new stuff anyday. The analog meter on my CZ5 is very accurate and it locks on a target, not jumping all over the place like the digitals do.
I would like to see Fisher bring back some of the classic detectors the have produced over the years. Maybe update the electronics some, but put the quality back into their products like it used to be. Their current detectors remind me all to much of the Bounty hunter detectors in the quality but the price
sure don't show it. Why pay 1500.00 for a new F75 when the CZ's will go as deep and run much smoother for less than a third of the price?..............HH
I have felt that way since I started detecting again...I bought a new CZ-70 Pro soon after it was introduced and loved it more than all I've ever used after honestly...a well-tuned CZ-3D is also a pleasure to use and just plain deep! I have a super like new Irish SE Pro and an awesome Irish E-trac but I still love my CZ's more...I think I'm about ready to sell all my Minelab machines and accessories( including 3 NEL coils ) and just finially be happy for a bit!
The only disadvantage to the CZ line, for me, is the falsing on iron. Now the falsing is obvious, since the high tones are not consistent, but it does require re-checking a lot of iffy signals when in a nail bed. This can be tedious after a long time.
The F-series and Etrac are not afflicted like this, and will provide an advantage in this environment, with the F-series having an edge due to it's faster processor. I'm not sold on TTF, but that's another debate entirely...
But in most other places I prefer a properly tuned (Tom Dankowski) CZ too.
I tell you these CZs are the deepest and more accurate id detectors I've used and am proud to say that I am done trying out detectors to find one that fits me my CZ'S have found their permanent homes!! They are priceless to me!!!! I can't tell you how many articles I've read of guys regretting ever getting rid of theirs, I done the same thing way back when I just started detecting and thought the newer and improved detectors were the way to go I have finally got my CZ'S back and will never let them go again for all that hype of the newest detector that always let's you down.
Go Rebels, sounds like you are using disc with your CZ. Run zero disc and iron isn't a problem. I never use disc on my CZ5 and can pick coins out in the trash by going slow and letting the iron come through and isolating the high tones around the iron. Sometimes deep iron will fool me but not very often.
I agree with you 88junior, the CZ's are the deepest and most reliable ID of any detector I have ever used. I love the 5 inch coil on my CZ5 in a trashy area. I have dug some old silver in areas that was 8 plus inches deep with the 5 inch coil with a solid signal.........HH
