Guy said he paid $10 on a Compass Judge 2.

Ha!
That was me and I did pay $10 for the thing.
Not the automatic with the button on the handle model.
Also got a Yukon 71b for $10 in the same deal.
A long time older member of my club got them new and he decided to clean out a closet filled with a bunch of his old detectors.
The Yukon doesn't work at all but I think the coil is good.
The Judge kinda works but it takes patience to get it set correctly so it needs some TLC to really get it running right.
I believe there are some guys out there that still know about and can repair it's so one day I will get that done.
When it works that see through iron ability is pretty amazing so it has a place in my arsenal and always will.
I need to start a dedicated weight lifting program to gain the strength needed to swing it for a long time, though.
Ergonomics was not a word that existed when this thing was made, evidently.
