My buddy and I headed out for our usual At Pro / AT GOLD hunt. I got yet another piece of petrified wood in the area. Here are the finds. Managed a great toy gun, some tokens, coins and other misc. items.

Here's the close-up of the gun. The mechanics still work on it, so the hammer hits when you pull the trigger. The gun brings back memories, of playing cowboys and Indians, when things were a lot simpler and sot so "Politically Correct".

Ah yes.....some pinball tokens and a another to watch peep shows. I can't believe I found a bird band with the tibia bone still attached. The numbers included a small number "52" which I assume was the year it was banded. Man.....another great fall hunt with warm temperatures, no bugs and easy digging!

Those are some odd but cool finds! I especially like the bird leg and band. Keep up the good work!

Neat finds on the toy gun and the bird band. We have a source down here for checking found bird bands. Just email the info off the band and you get when and where the bird was banded and bird species. Another interesting hunt you had. HH jim tn

Interesting finds, John. He must have been a jail bird having a band on his leg...Lol It would be nice if you could find out more information about when and where the bird was banded. Finding the band and the leg bone is something else. If 52 stood for the year he was banded, I wonder how long the bird had laid there and probably laid low by a cat. HH.

Cool! I've not found a bird band yet...thats generally a very small target right?

Yes it is, and can give some high tones. Nice strong signal too.

Loving that toy gun. I have found a few bands with the bone still inside also, strange find.
