Gulf Hunter - Question About The Garrett Mark II

I have been hunting freshwater lakes for several years and recently bought a Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II. It's my only PI machine. (also have a modified Surmaster II & DetectorPro Wader) What kind of depth are you getting with your Mark II on land and in the water? I bought this machine to possibly get some of the rings and coins just beyond the reach of other VLF machines. Although the water isn't mineralized with salt, it is alkaline and does pose a problem with running high sensitivity on my other machines. I am familiar with the limitations of the discrimination on the Mark II and will be running it with zero discrimination in standard trash.

Of course where I live, things are kinda frozen at the moment, so I have had only a couple of opportunities to play with it in the snow, where it seemed to be getting nice depth on coin sized objects. But.........snow and sand aren't the same matrix :). Any information you could give is really appreciated.
