Guess what it is

It on a lime stone hill it was built in 1914. It was used to fire the lime stone to make cement powder. Most of the houses from that time period have rock foundations. To the right and above is where they mined the lime stone and to the left you can see the old rock water well. The town is a old ghost town here is a link if you would like to read more about this. There is a lot of history every where we go.

Hey Joe have you done any detecting around this area? If so have you found anything? I have been out to Llano a few times but had a detector with no discrimination and found nothing but trash. I live in Lancaster and am having a hard time finding anywhere local to hunt and find older coins or relics. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was going to say it appeared to be a Kiln of some type. I drive by that area on my way to Vegas or heading out for a vacation. I heard that up to 5,000 people lived there. Must have been quite a settlement!

Here in central california ive seen something similar but not constructed the same way...I hope im not repeating someone elses reply....in the "olden" days they collected a certain type of "rock" and melted it into metal...i dont recall the name...evidently it was productive back then....
